Applications for scholarships in the UAE can now be completed in just 5 minutes with only 2 documents following the launch of a new government AI-powered platform.

The UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has launched the new scholarship service through EduHub, its integrated digital portal for higher education. The number of required application fields has been reduced from 22 to 4, while the application process has been cut from 5 steps to 3.

The platform is directly connected to government entities, allowing it to automatically retrieve information that applicants previously had to submit themselves. Artificial intelligence is also used to read and verify documents.

The new service is integrated with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, the National Service and Reserve Authority, and the UAE Ministry of Education.

Rashid Karam Al Kaabi, Director of the International Education Support and Scholarships Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, said: “The new scholarship platform is built on digital integration and direct connectivity with several government entities, including the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, the National Service and Reserve Authority, and the Ministry of Education.”

He added: “This integration has reduced the number of documents required from applicants to just 2. Students who attended public schools no longer need to submit personal information or high school transcripts, as these details are retrieved automatically through the system.”

Under the new system, applicants need to complete only 4 fields, compared with 22 previously.

The application process has also been reduced from 5 steps to 3, with submissions taking as little as 5 minutes.

Students who attended public schools no longer need to provide personal information or high school transcripts, as the data is retrieved directly from government systems.

AI tools are used to read and review documents and automate processes that previously required action by the applicant.

Scholarship agreements can now be signed entirely electronically. Documents required after a scholarship is awarded can also be submitted through the platform, removing the need for traditional communication methods or in-person visits to ministry offices.

🔵 Scholarship application process goes fully digital

Applicants receive instant notifications and regular updates on the status of their applications.

A direct messaging feature also allows students to communicate with the relevant department at the ministry.

The Ministry of Higher Education said the platform was designed to address previous challenges, including difficulties tracking applications by email, the need to visit the ministry in person when technical issues arose, and lengthy document-signing procedures.

All stages of the scholarship service are now completed digitally.

The ministry also plans to assess the new platform’s performance using indicators such as application completion time, the number of steps involved, the proportion of transactions completed digitally, and user satisfaction.

The scholarship platform is part of EduHub, the Ministry of Higher Education’s integrated digital portal for higher education services.

The platform provides registration and admission services for higher education institutions, scholarship services, and information on institutions and academic programmes outside the UAE.

Users can also submit exemption requests through EduHub and track their status.
