Dubai Police warn of AED 100,000 fine and jail time for illegal fireworks ahead of Eid Al Adha
Dubai Police have warned residents against the use and trade of fireworks during the upcoming Eid Al Adha 2026 long holiday.
The authority emphasized that while fireworks may appear harmless, they can quickly become a real danger, threatening lives, property, and public safety.
Dubai Police urged community members to adhere to the law and refrain from any dealings involving fireworks or individuals engaged in their sale to maintain public security.
Severe penalties have been established for the unlicensed sale, purchase, export, or import of fireworks.
Under Article 54 of Federal Decree-Law No. 17 of 2019, any individual who buys, sells, imports, exports, manufactures, or brings fireworks into or out of the country without a license faces a minimum of one year in prison and a fine of at least AED 100,000, or one of these two penalties.
Increased Monitoring Ahead of Eid Al Adha
Dubai Municipality has also assured the public that its inspection teams are active around the clock at all land, sea, and air ports, as well as in restaurants and food centers across the city, to ensure food safety during the Eid period.
Beyond food establishments, inspection campaigns have expanded to hotels, men's barbershops, beauty salons, and shisha cafes to verify compliance with health, hygiene, and environmental standards.
These inspections include monitoring water quality, indoor air quality, cleaning practices, and swimming pool safety, particularly in high-traffic hospitality and accommodation centers.
A specialized campaign has also been launched to examine henna products used in women's salons. Laboratory tests are being conducted as part of this campaign to ensure these products are free from harmful substances that could cause allergies or skin reactions.
Simultaneously, safety inspections for consumer goods in stores have intensified, focusing on toys, cosmetics, perfumes, and electrical items. Authorities are also monitoring compliance with regulations regarding tobacco and related products to ensure all goods meet approved safety standards.
The authority will also continue active field inspections in labor accommodation areas and local markets throughout the holiday.
