Trading Enterprises, the local importer of Jeep vehicles in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, has launched a safety recall campaign for certain Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator vehicles in coordination with the Consumer Protection and Commercial Control Department at the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism.

The recall covers models manufactured between 2021 and 2025. According to published information, a total of 5,612 vehicles in the UAE are expected to require inspection.

The recall concerns a potential issue with the electrical connector of the electro-hydraulic power steering pump, or EHPSP. In some vehicles, electrical resistance at the connection may increase, potentially resulting in a loss of power steering assistance, the display of a “Service Power Steering” warning message, or the registration of a steering system fault code.

According to the recall notice, increased electrical resistance at the pump connection could, under certain conditions, raise temperatures near flammable materials. In severe cases, this may increase the risk of a fire inside or around the vehicle, posing a danger to occupants and people nearby.

The importer said it would contact affected vehicle owners directly and ask them to take their vehicles to authorised service centres. Repairs will include inspecting the connections and wiring, replacing any necessary components and, if required, replacing the electro-hydraulic power steering pump.

All inspections and repairs will be carried out free of charge. Owners of 2021 to 2025 Wrangler and Gladiator models who receive a recall notice are advised to take their vehicles to an authorised service centre within the specified timeframe.
