Toyota and Nissan lead SUV demand in the UAE
SUVs remained the most popular choice for buyers in the UAE during the first half of 2026, a market where spaciousness, family utility, durability, and resale value play a significant role in customer decisions.
According to data from the Dubizzle platform, Toyota SUVs recorded more than 10.4 million views from January to the end of June, topping market searches. Nissan ranked second with 8.6 million views, followed by Land Rover with 7.2 million, Mercedes-Benz with 6 million, and BMW with nearly 3.5 million views.
Among various models, the Nissan Patrol was identified as the most popular SUV in the UAE in the first half of the year, with over 4.1 million views. The Toyota Land Cruiser took second place, while the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Range Rover, and Land Rover Defender were other highly searched models in the market.
Market experts state that the popularity of the Patrol and Land Cruiser is linked to their track record of reliability, large interior space, performance, and value retention in the pre-owned market. These features have led families and individual buyers to choose these two models for daily commutes, long trips, and off-road activities.
Alongside family models, demand for luxury SUVs remains high. The popularity of the G-Class, Range Rover, and Defender shows that UAE buyers value advanced technology, comfort features, and premium design in addition to daily utility.
Market data indicates that the buyer preference for multi-purpose and family vehicles remains one of the primary factors shaping the UAE automotive market, a trend that has strengthened the position of Japanese brands alongside luxury European manufacturers.
