The UAE has announced fuel prices for June 2026, marking the first price update since the country’s departure from OPEC and OPEC+ in May to operate as an independent oil producer.

The UAE Fuel Price Committee has increased rates compared to May, amid ongoing Middle East conflicts, a current ceasefire, and continuing diplomatic negotiations in the background.

Fuel prices, approved by the UAE Ministry of Energy, are determined monthly based on average global oil prices plus the operational costs of distribution companies. The new rates, effective from June 1, are as follows:

According to the announced rates, the price of Super 98 petrol has reached AED 3.95 per liter for June, up from AED 3.66 in May. Special 95 petrol has also increased from AED 3.55 in May to AED 3.83 in June. Additionally, the price of E-Plus 91 petrol has risen from AED 3.48 to AED 3.76 per liter.

Depending on the vehicle type and tank capacity, a full tank of petrol in June will cost between AED 14.28 and AED 21.46 more than in May.

Petrol prices have shown an upward trend for the fourth consecutive month.

The UAE last saw record-breaking fuel prices in 2022 following the Russia-Ukraine war, when prices crossed the AED 4 per liter mark for the first time. In July of that year, rates peaked with Super 98 reaching AED 4.63 and Special 95 reaching AED 4.52 per liter, the highest levels recorded to date.
