This year, the UAE will celebrate Emirati Women's Day, an occasion to honor the role of women in the nation's prosperity, not just for a single day but through a month-long program of events starting from August 28, 2026.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation. In a letter addressed to the people of the UAE, she wrote: "As the horizon of ambition expands with you and through you, our celebration this year will not be limited to a single day."

She added: "This occasion will be an opportunity for action, appreciation, the launch of initiatives, and the introduction of role models who emphasize that women in the UAE are not merely examples of individual success, but part of an integrated national system."

Emirati Women's Day is held annually on August 28 and has become a significant occasion to review progress, renew commitment to gender equality, and celebrate the achievements of women across the country.

Sheikha Fatima, who is the Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, also announced this year's theme.

She said: "My daughters and sons, this year's Emirati Women's Day will be held under the theme 'We Rise Stronger and Better,' a slogan that reflects the spirit of the UAE—a spirit that does not stop at the point of achieving success and is not satisfied with what has been accomplished, but looks toward tomorrow with ambition and responsibility."

The Mother of the Nation also called on national institutions to adopt flexibility as an advanced approach to support women, especially working mothers and women responsible for caring for the elderly and people of determination.

She said: "This goal must be achieved through proactive policies and programs that take into account family responsibilities and work requirements while ensuring the continuity of performance and productivity."
