Dubai Police have urged motorists to ensure the safety and technical readiness of their vehicles, check tires regularly, and monitor their condition. This warning comes as temperatures reach their peak and many residents prepare for long summer road trips.

Releasing shocking images of several vehicles engulfed in flames, Dubai Police stated that increasing awareness regarding vehicle safety and technical readiness is essential to protect drivers, passengers, and other road users during the summer months.

Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said that drivers must ensure all safety measures are met before heading out on the road.

Dubai Police Summer Warning

Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan stated that drivers must regularly inspect their vehicles and adhere to traffic rules and regulations, particularly during periods of extreme heat.

He also warned motorists against installing modifications and accessories at unauthorized centers.

According to Dubai Police, such modifications often lead to vehicle malfunctions and are considered one of the primary causes of car fires.

Dubai Police added that police departments across the UAE are conducting intensive awareness campaigns and enforcement actions against traffic violations during this period, with a specific focus on vehicles equipped with expired tires to enhance road safety.

Thousands of Vehicle Safety Violations

Dubai Police announced that the General Department of Traffic recorded 3,589 violations related to vehicle component safety during the first five months of this year.

These violations included 1,737 instances of driving a vehicle that did not meet safety and security requirements, 1,026 instances of driving a vehicle unfit for the road, and 826 instances of driving with expired tires.

Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan said the objective of this monitoring campaign is to protect the lives of road users by encouraging drivers to maintain their vehicles correctly and comply with safety regulations.
