Dubai Police warned residents about fraudulent advertisements offering work, residency, or visit visas in exchange for money, stating that scammers are increasingly using social media and messaging apps to target victims.

According to the Anti-Fraud Center at the General Department of Criminal Investigation, scammers often use the names of unlicensed companies or impersonate official entities to trick individuals into paying for fake visa services.

As part of the ongoing "Beware of Fraud" campaign, the center urged residents to process all visa applications only through relevant government entities or licensed service providers and to avoid dealing with unverified intermediaries.

The public was also advised to verify the authenticity of visa offers through official channels before making any payments.

The center stated that awareness and verifying the source of any service is the first line of defense against fraud, warning the public not to be deceived by false promises of obtaining visas or jobs through illegal means.

Residents are encouraged to report fraud cases or attempted scams through the Dubai Police smart app, the eCrime platform, or by calling 901.
