Sharjah Police announce 50 per cent discount on business fees and fines to stimulate economy

Sharjah Police has announced an incentive package to reduce business costs and strengthen the emirate's economic environment, offering a 50 per cent discount on various fees, fines, and services related to commercial activities.

The initiative, implemented under a Sharjah Executive Council decision, aims to support economic institutions, enhance business sustainability, and reinforce Sharjah’s position as a key investment destination in the UAE.

According to Sharjah Police, the package includes a 50 per cent reduction in security permit renewal fees for commercial activities, a 50 per cent discount on fines and violations, and a 50 per cent reduction in security system subscription fees.

Businesses will also benefit from a 20 per cent reduction in the cost of mandatory training programs.

Sharjah Police stated that the decision includes additional facilities to support commercial enterprises and improve the ease of doing business in the emirate. These incentives will be valid for three months from the date of implementation.

Officials said the scheme aims to alleviate regulatory and operational costs for companies, ensure business continuity, and support the private sector amid challenging global economic conditions.

The package is expected to be particularly beneficial for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which represent a significant portion of Sharjah’s business sector and play a vital role in job creation and economic diversification.

Sharjah authorities emphasized that the move is part of the emirate’s ongoing approach to creating a more competitive investment environment that supports existing companies in expanding their operations while attracting new businesses.

Businesses requiring more information about these incentives and exemptions can contact the Sharjah Police call center on 901.

The announcement comes as various government entities across the UAE have launched multiple programs in recent months to improve the business climate, reduce operational costs, and stimulate private sector growth.

Previously, Dubai approved its second economic stimulus package worth AED 1.5 billion, bringing the emirate's total support over two months to AED 2.5 billion. This included 33 initiatives across sectors such as tourism, trade, education, customs, transport, real estate, and culture.

At the federal level, programs such as "Make it in the Emirates," the National In-Country Value (ICV) program, and Operation 300bn aim to boost domestic manufacturing, develop supply chains, create jobs, and increase private sector contribution to the national economy.
