Smart paid parking introduced at Dubai healthcare facilities; patient parking remains free
A smart paid parking management system at Dubai Health facilities came into effect on Monday, September 21. The first phase of the initiative has been launched at Rashid Hospital in partnership with Parkin, Dubai’s largest provider of paid public parking services.
The initiative aims to make parking at healthcare facilities easier for patients and visitors while providing faster, more integrated services.
Under the agreement, parking will be free for patients throughout their visit to Dubai Health facilities. This applies to emergency patients, those attending medical appointments or undergoing tests, walk-in patients and those receiving ongoing treatment.
Conditions for Free Parking
• Patient visitors: Visitors who provide the patient’s details at hospital reception will receive up to three hours of free parking once per day.
• Companions of inpatients: Two companions per patient may use free parking for up to 24 hours. The period can be extended if required.
• People of determination, senior citizens and pregnant women: After their eligibility is verified, they will continue to receive free valet parking.
• Hospital staff and authorised vehicles: Their details will be registered in the system to ensure seamless entry and exit.
Standard parking tariffs will apply to motorists who are not visiting Dubai Health facilities.
A daily 30-minute free grace period will also be available to facilitate passenger pick-up and drop-off.
Additional Services at Car Parks
The initiative will also provide optional on-site services, including valet parking, car washing and electric vehicle charging.
Dubai Health comprises six hospitals, 26 ambulatory health centres, 20 medical fitness centres, Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), and Al Jalila Foundation.
