According to the latest advisories, some Etihad flights have been cancelled through October 13, while flydubai flights to Riyadh are cancelled through the end of October 14, 2026.
Etihad Airways initially announced the cancellation of eight flights between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh on October 11 and 12. These included six flights on Sunday, October 11, and two on Monday, October 12.
However, the airline later expanded the cancellations to include additional Riyadh services on October 12 and 13. Flights EY551 from Abu Dhabi to Riyadh and EY552 from Riyadh to Abu Dhabi are also among those cancelled on October 13.
The disruption has also affected some Etihad flights from Abu Dhabi to Dammam and Jeddah.
Meanwhile, a flydubai spokesperson confirmed that the airline’s flights to Riyadh will remain cancelled through October 14, inclusive. flydubai said it is monitoring the situation in coordination with the relevant authorities and will communicate any changes through its official channels.
The disruption follows attacks on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport. According to Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation, an attack on the airport on Saturday, October 10, left 12 people dead and 309 injured, some of them critically.
Etihad Airways said the situation remains fluid and further changes to flight schedules are possible.
Passengers have been advised to check their flight status directly with their airline before travelling to the airport. Affected travellers can also visit the relevant airline’s website for information on rebooking or ticket refund options.
