Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority wins inaugural Dubai-ite Award
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, announced on Sunday that Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) had won the Dubai-it Award in the government entities category.
Sheikh Hamdan said the RTA was selected for its outstanding performance in delivering projects to develop Dubai’s transport system and providing services to the city’s residents.
Announcing the winner, the Dubai Crown Prince explained that “Dubai-it” means “achieving exceptional success in record time and to a high standard of quality”.
Dubai Roads and Transport Authority’s achievements
The RTA has delivered some of the world’s most ambitious transport projects, achieving high levels of efficiency in their implementation.
Sheikh Hamdan said the Dubai Metro’s punctuality rate had reached 99.7 per cent, while also highlighting the network’s continued expansion.
Dubai is also among the first cities in the world to deploy autonomous transport on such a wide scale.
Meanwhile, Dubai’s cycling network has expanded to unprecedented levels, in line with officials’ goal of making the city more accessible for pedestrians and cyclists.
Sheikh Hamdan said: “This is how we want our entities to operate: staying ahead of the city’s needs, valuing people’s time, and reflecting Dubai’s speed and quality in their work.”
What is the Dubai-it Award?
The Dubai-it Award was launched earlier this year to recognise individuals, projects, companies and entities that embody Dubai’s distinctive approach to achieving exceptional success with speed and superior quality.
The award covers a range of sectors, including government, real estate, the economy, business, technology, health, sport, education, community and services.
Winners in each sector are selected across three main categories:
🔹 Individual
🔹 Project
🔹 Entity or company
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority is the first organisation to receive the award in the government entities category.
