Horse sells for Dh2.8 million at Dubai Arabian horse auction
The Dubai Arabian Horse Stud auction concluded with sales of AED 17.361 million. Held at the stud’s indoor arena, the event attracted strong interest from purebred Arabian horse owners and breeders from the UAE, GCC countries, the Middle East and Europe.
Dubai Arabian Horse Stud said in a statement on Sunday that the auction was conducted in person by Emirates Auctions and online through the Kahila platform. The event featured 55 horses bred by the stud, as well as two breeding rights to the stallions FA El Rasheem and his son, D Seraj.
Among the horses sold, the young mare D Ashrah topped the auction at AED 2.8 million, followed by D Haneen at AED 2.3 million. Two other young mares, D Etawah and D Tahiya, each sold for AED 2.2 million.
Mohammed Al Tawhidi, General Manager and General Supervisor of Dubai Arabian Horse Stud, said the auction results reflected the strong reputation of the stud’s breeding programme and its role in supporting and developing other Arabian horse studs.
Abdulaziz Al Marzouqi, Executive Director of the stud, said the strong turnout from buyers across the Gulf reflected their confidence in the quality of its breeding programme, its success in championships and its contribution to advancing the purebred Arabian horse breed.
Saud Al Rahmani, CEO of Emirates Horse Auctions, described the event as the “Auction of Millions”, citing unprecedented sales records in the UAE and across the Gulf region.
