WWE superstar and Hollywood actor John Cena is set to appear at the Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) 2026 in Abu Dhabi, where he will meet fans on September 12 and 13.

The 14th edition of the event will take place from September 11 to 13 at ADNEC Abu Dhabi. Cena headlines a guest list that includes international stars such as Mackenyu, known for his role as Roronoa Zoro in the live-action One Piece, and Joonas Suotamo, who played Chewbacca in the Star Wars films.

With 17 world championship titles in professional wrestling, Cena successfully transitioned to film and television, starring in major productions including The Suicide Squad, the Fast & Furious franchise, Bumblebee, Barbie, and the series Peacemaker.

The Meet the Stars segment of the convention offers fans the opportunity for autograph sessions, photo opportunities, and interactions with celebrity guests. Other MEFCC highlights include discussion panels with film and TV personalities, cosplay competitions, gaming, comics, anime, and manga.

While VIP tickets for this edition are already sold out, standard tickets remain available. Single-day tickets for Friday and Sunday are priced at AED 160, while Saturday tickets are AED 190. A three-day pass is available for AED 390. Entry is free for children aged six and under, while tickets for children aged seven to 11 are priced at AED 50 at the venue.

Will his Iranian wife accompany him?

There is currently no official confirmation regarding whether John Cena’s wife, Shay Shariatzadeh—an Iranian-born, Iranian-Canadian engineer—will accompany him on his trip to Abu Dhabi.

The official MEFCC website and guest list currently only feature Cena’s name, with no mention of Shariatzadeh among the announced guests or companions.

However, Shariatzadeh recently accompanied Cena to San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, 2026. While her presence in Abu Dhabi remains a possibility, it has not yet been confirmed.
