Three Indian UAE Residents Each Win 24-Karat Gold Bar in Big Ticket Draw
Three Indian residents of the UAE and an Omani businessman each won a 200-gram 24-carat gold bar in Abu Dhabi’s latest weekly Big Ticket draw. Each bar was valued at around AED 95,000 when the results were announced. The three Indian winners live in Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai and Sharjah, and one of them won on his first attempt.
The draw was held on Sunday, November 1, 2026, as the final weekly e-draw for October, with the winners announced on Monday, November 2.
Rajesh Gopalan, Aneesh Ravindradas and Mohammed Ashraf Mundakai Samsu, the three Indian winners, are from the state of Kerala and live in Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai and Sharjah, respectively. Omani businessman Yousuf Hamed Mohammed Al Naabi was the fourth winner.
Winning on his first attempt
Rajesh Gopalan, a 52-year-old supervisor who has lived with his family in Ras Al Khaimah for more than 30 years, won a prize the first time he bought a Big Ticket entry.
He had previously heard about the draw through social media and colleagues but only recently decided to enter for the first time.
Gopalan bought the ticket jointly with a relative, while family members helped choose the number. The number selected by his wife ultimately proved to be the winner.
Describing his surprise when he received the news, he said: “I couldn’t believe my luck. Imagine winning on your very first attempt!”
He said he plans to share the prize with the relative who helped buy the ticket and has not yet decided whether to enter the draw again.
Using the prize to repay a home loan
Aneesh Ravindradas, a 44-year-old advertising professional who has lived in Dubai for 18 years, was another winner. His family lives in India.
He has been entering Big Ticket draws for years with a group of 10 friends. For the latest draw, the group took advantage of a promotion offering four additional tickets with the purchase of two.
One of his friends selected the winning ticket number based on his eldest son’s date of birth.
Ravindradas said the group plans to sell the gold bar and divide the proceeds equally among its members.
He intends to use his share to repay his home loan in India, saying the prize would provide significant financial relief.
Sharjah school bus driver wins gold
Mohammed Ashraf Mundakai Samsu, a 38-year-old school bus driver, was the third Indian winner. Originally from Kerala, he has lived with his family in Sharjah for 14 years.
The driver began entering Big Ticket draws three years ago and has continued buying tickets with a group of six friends.
The group’s winning ticket number was selected entirely at random.
After learning the result, Samsu said winning was an extremely joyful experience and that sharing the success with his friends made it even more meaningful.
He added that the group members plan to divide the prize among themselves.
Omani businessman wins after years of entering draw
Yousuf Hamed Mohammed Al Naabi, a 49-year-old Omani businessman, was the fourth winner. Unlike the three Indian winners, he bought his tickets individually.
He has been entering Big Ticket draws for around five to six years and usually buys between 10 and 15 tickets at a time when travelling.
Al Naabi also selected his winning ticket number at random.
Expressing his delight, he said he had not yet decided how to use the prize but planned to continue entering future draws.
According to Big Ticket’s official winners’ list, all four winners in the November 1 draw received a 200-gram 24-carat gold bar.
