Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, said the country’s tourism sector is poised to enter a new phase of growth and prosperity in the coming months.

“We were in the eye of the storm and managed the situation well. We are ready for next month,” he said.

Al Marri added that hoteliers played a key role in maintaining the tourism sector’s resilience by retaining staffing levels while keeping booking prices unchanged.

According to the UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, Gulf countries have also collectively accelerated their digital transformation over the past few months.

“What we have collectively achieved across the Gulf countries has now become a model studied in business case studies around the world,” he said.

The remarks were made during a panel discussion at Arabian Travel Market, an international travel and tourism event being held over four days at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Jasem Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, also said last week that GCC countries welcomed 75 million tourists in 2025, an increase of 4.3 per cent compared with the previous year.

The number of tourist trips between GCC member states also reached 20 million in 2025.
