Dubai’s One Billion Steps Challenge Draws More Than 146,000 Participants
Dubai Residential has announced an initiative aimed at residents of its 21 managed residential communities collectively logging one billion steps ahead of the 10th Dubai Fitness Challenge in 2026.
The initiative seeks to encourage more than 146,000 residents across these communities to become more physically active and participate in Dubai’s 30x30 challenge.
Dubai Residential, the owner and operator of one of Dubai’s largest portfolios of rental residential properties, is running the initiative in partnership with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and Dubai Sports Council.
How to join Dubai’s one billion-step challenge
Residents of the 21 participating communities can download the fitze app to track their daily steps and earn rewards for reaching designated targets.
According to the organisers, steps recorded from October 31 to November 29, 2026, will count towards the shared target of one billion steps.
The initiative forms part of the 10th Dubai Fitness Challenge, which encourages residents and visitors to complete 30 minutes of physical activity every day for 30 consecutive days.
Free Talabat Pro subscriptions for sports event participants
Talabat will support the initiative as the exclusive provider of water and beverages at sporting events held across the residential communities.
The company will also offer free Talabat Pro subscriptions to residents and families attending the events.
In addition, the top five participants in the overall competition will each receive a 12-month Careem Plus subscription.
The next five participants will each receive a six-month Careem Plus subscription.
Chance to win prizes from an AED1 million reward pool
Participating residents will also have the chance to win prizes through the fitze app from a reward pool worth AED1 million during the Dubai Fitness Challenge.
Prizes will include international trips, leisure stays, restaurant dining experiences, shopping gift cards and other rewards.
Dubai Residential’s one billion-step initiative will run from October 31 to November 29, 2026, alongside the 10th Dubai Fitness Challenge, with the aim of increasing participation in physical activity, encouraging daily movement and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
