Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger users faced widespread access disruptions across these platforms in the UAE and several countries worldwide today, Sunday, July 19.

Users reported issues with the home feed not opening, posts and profiles failing to load, disruptions in publishing stories and content, as well as difficulties logging into their accounts. Some desktop users of Instagram also encountered a message stating that the account was temporarily unavailable due to a technical issue with the site.

According to data from the outage monitoring website Downdetector, the number of reports in the UAE increased throughout the day, peaking around 1:00 PM. During this period, more than 200 users in the UAE reported issues using Instagram.

Approximately 51 percent of reports were related to Instagram app performance, 24 percent were linked to feed loading issues, and 18 percent concerned content posting. The highest number of reports in the UAE were recorded in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The disruption was not limited to the UAE, as thousands of similar reports were filed from various countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, and Argentina. Reports indicate that Facebook and Messenger also experienced simultaneous issues with user logins, content display, and messaging.

Meta has yet to release an official explanation regarding the cause of the outage, and it remains unclear how many users were affected or when services on these platforms will fully return to normal.
