Apple Fans From Russia and Uzbekistan Flock to Dubai for Foldable iPhone
As Apple’s first foldable iPhone officially went on sale in the UAE, resale offers for some iPhone Duo models reached Dh25,000 — more than Dh11,000 above the official price of the two-terabyte version.
The iPhone Duo entered the UAE market on Friday, October 23, 2026, but retailers said limited stock and high demand had driven up resale prices significantly.
Mohammad Salimov, an Uzbek national who travelled to the UAE to buy the phone, said he had ordered eight iPhone Duo devices with two terabytes of storage.
“The official price is Dh13,599 per device, but I have received offers of up to Dh25,000 here in the UAE,” he said.
However, Salimov does not plan to sell the phones in the UAE and intends to take them to Uzbekistan, where he said buyers are willing to pay more for the product.
Meanwhile, a retailer named Mohammad, who owns a mobile phone shop in Dubai’s Deira district, said he had bought four 256GB iPhone Duo devices and sold each for a profit of Dh8,000. He said the transactions generated a total profit of about Dh32,000 within an hour.
Official UAE prices for the iPhone Duo are set at Dh8,499 for the 256GB model, Dh9,349 for the 512GB model, Dh11,049 for the one-terabyte model and Dh13,599 for the two-terabyte version.
The device is Apple’s first foldable phone and uses a Touch ID fingerprint sensor instead of the Face ID facial recognition system.
Mohammad Sharif, owner of Axtel Mobiles, said his store received only three devices on the first day, with the next shipment due to arrive in November.
Another retailer said he had reserved more than 30 devices and had so far sold 14 at an estimated profit of Dh7,000 per phone. He has also held back 10 devices in the hope of selling them at higher prices.
The retailer said delivery of some new orders had been pushed back to January 2027 and predicted that limited availability would drive prices even higher in the coming weeks.
