A Dubai resident who owns a collection of 53 iPhones, ranging from the first-generation model to the iPhone 18 Pro Max, brought his devices to an Apple Store on Friday, October 23, while collecting two new foldable iPhone Duo handsets.

Mohammed Shaka, a long-time Apple enthusiast, arrived at the store with 53 iPhones after staff contacted him a day before the iPhone Duo launch and asked him to bring his collection for display.

Shaka, originally from Karachi, Pakistan, has been collecting different iPhone models for nearly two decades. He says it is not merely a hobby, but also a personal challenge.

“Collecting iPhones is my hobby, but it is also a challenge for me,” he said. “I have almost every iPhone model, from the first generation to the iPhone 18 Pro Max. I have also kept one or two units of certain models in different colours, and they are all displayed in my home.”

The technology enthusiast said that although he also owns several Motorola and Samsung phones, Apple products have always been his main passion.

According to Shaka, the changes introduced with each iPhone generation — from cameras and touchscreen technology to batteries and operating systems — have motivated him to keep expanding his collection.

He also said he had waited more than three years for Apple’s first foldable iPhone and had followed news about the device since the earliest rumours emerged.

Shaka said he successfully placed an order when iPhone Duo pre-orders opened and collected two devices on launch day.

For the third consecutive year, he was also among the first customers to receive a newly launched Apple product, an accomplishment he considers his third in a row.

“I achieved my goal for three consecutive years, and now I want others to have the same opportunity,” Shaka said. “I have done what I wanted to do, and I do not want anyone else to be disappointed.”

His next goal is to attend an Apple product launch event in California. Shaka hopes the company will one day invite him to such an event, allowing him to demonstrate his long-standing passion for Apple products in person and be first in line to receive a new device.
