Horizon University College license in Ajman revoked over violations
The institutional license and program accreditation of Horizon University College, based in Ajman, have been revoked.
The UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) withdrew the institution's license following severe and repeated violations of the UAE's academic and regulatory frameworks.
This decision effectively halts all activities of the institution. The college is now prohibited from conducting any higher education activities, including teaching, student recruitment, advertising educational programs, awarding degrees, and issuing academic transcripts.
According to the Ministry, these violations raised serious concerns regarding educational quality, the validity of learning outcomes, the institution's sustainability, and, most importantly, the protection of student rights.
Student Transfer
In response, MoHESR has intervened to ensure that current students are not left in limbo. In cooperation with relevant local authorities, the Ministry is coordinating the transfer of affected students to alternative accredited institutions so they can continue their studies without interruption.
A special joint task force has been formed to oversee the transfer process. Chaired by a representative from MoHESR and including stakeholders from the college and other entities, the group will implement a structured student protection plan aimed at ensuring a smooth transition and preserving all educational rights and benefits for the students.
The Ministry has also urged students and parents to follow its official communication channels for timely updates and guidance throughout the transition period.
Reaffirming its regulatory stance, MoHESR stated that this action reflects its ongoing commitment to strict oversight of the UAE's higher education sector, emphasizing that maintaining quality standards and protecting students remains at the core of the Ministry's mission.
The Ministry added that as the transfer process progresses, it will continue to provide clear and transparent updates to ensure an orderly educational transition for all affected students.
