Fujairah Adventures suspends outdoor activities until winter as temperatures rise

Fujairah’s official adventure tourism center has announced the suspension of outdoor activities and adventure programs across the emirate until the start of the winter season. The decision comes as temperatures rise across the UAE with the approach of summer.

Fujairah Adventures stated that all outdoor and adventure activities for residents and tourists will remain suspended until next winter. As the official government body for adventure tourism in Fujairah, the center manages hiking trails, outdoor sports, and various recreational programs.

The announcement follows reports from the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) regarding a gradual increase in temperatures during May. According to an official report by WAM, average maximum temperatures in the UAE this month are expected to range between 37.3°C and 40.7°C, marking the transition from winter to summer.

Rising temperatures have been increasingly evident in recent days. Meteorological reports indicate that temperatures in parts of the country have frequently reached or exceeded 40°C, prompting many outdoor attractions and activities to begin their seasonal closures.

In Dubai, several major outdoor destinations, including Global Village, Miracle Garden, and Dubai Safari Park, will remain open only until May 31 before closing for the summer. While these closures occur annually, the early onset of heat has brought forward the focus on restricting outdoor activities this year.

The suspension of adventure activities in Fujairah primarily impacts tourists and enthusiasts of nature trekking, hiking, and outdoor sports. While local authorities have not yet specified an exact date for reopening, the announcement confirmed that activities will resume with the arrival of the next winter season.
