An Emirati woman and her nine-month-old daughter were killed, while two other family members were injured, after their car collided with a parked truck on the Fujairah-Khorfakkan road.

The accident occurred on Thursday afternoon near the Fouz Petroleum area. According to preliminary investigations by Fujairah Police, the family's vehicle suddenly swerved from its lane and crashed into a truck parked on the shoulder of the road.

The 28-year-old mother and her infant died from the severity of their injuries. Her husband sustained serious injuries, and their three-year-old daughter was also injured. Police units, traffic patrols, and rescue teams arrived at the scene following the report and transported the injured to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in Fujairah for treatment.

Police stated that preliminary findings suggest driver distraction as a likely cause for the vehicle swerving; however, specialized investigations are ongoing to determine the full details of the incident.

Brigadier General Saleh Mohammed Abdullah Al Dhanhani, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Fujairah Police, urged motorists to maintain full concentration while driving and specifically avoid using mobile phones or other distractions.

Highlighting the heavy traffic of trucks and heavy vehicles on Fujairah's roads, he emphasized the importance of adhering to speed limits, slowing down when approaching stationary vehicles, maintaining a safe distance, and avoiding sudden lane changes.

Fujairah Police warned that even a few seconds of inattention can lead to irreparable consequences, stressing that drivers must adjust their speed according to road and traffic conditions.
