Sharjah Police have confirmed the deaths of two Kazakh sisters, aged 20 and 22, who had previously been reported missing. Their bodies were found in an apartment in Sharjah, and investigations into the circumstances and cause of their deaths are continuing.

Police said a search operation was launched after the missing persons report was filed, and officers eventually found the sisters in the apartment. Sharjah Police said a further official statement providing more details about the case and the circumstances of their deaths would be issued once the investigation is complete.

The sisters had lived and worked in the UAE for less than a year. Kazakh media reported that they arrived in Dubai in December 2025, worked at a beauty salon and lived in Sharjah. According to the reports, their family had been unable to contact them since around August 17 and notified the Kazakh consulate in Dubai several days later.

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also confirmed the deaths of the two citizens, saying the country’s consulate in Dubai was assisting their family with consular and legal matters and coordinating with the UAE authorities.

The sisters’ bodies were repatriated on August 28 with the assistance of Sharjah Police and the Kazakh consulate. Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry said its diplomats remained in contact with the UAE Public Prosecution and other relevant authorities, while the UAE authorities continued investigating the cause of death.

Before the official confirmation, claims about the women’s disappearance and people allegedly connected to them circulated on social media and WhatsApp. However, police have not officially announced a cause of death, named any suspects or confirmed any specific scenario. Claims circulating online therefore remain unverified at this stage.
