Sharjah Ruler Orders Construction of Tower and Women-Only Park in Kalba
His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has announced the construction of a tower and recreational park exclusively for women in Kalba. The project aims to provide dedicated leisure facilities for women, with a focus on privacy and comfort.
The project will be developed near the University of Kalba, opposite the city’s existing clock tower, allowing women to enjoy recreational facilities and surrounding views away from crowded, mixed-use spaces.
Referring to congestion at Kalba Clock Tower, the Ruler of Sharjah said the existing tower would be designated for men, while a new tower would be built opposite it exclusively for women.
He said the design of the new tower had been completed and construction was under way. The tower will be built in a location offering visitors panoramic views of the surrounding areas.
A large park will also be developed behind the tower for recreation and leisure. The complex will feature a spacious, air-conditioned indoor hall offering a range of games and entertainment activities for women.
The site of the new tower has been carefully selected to provide suitable views while safeguarding the privacy of nearby homes.
The Ruler of Sharjah described the project as a gift to the people of Kalba, stressing that it aims to provide women with a private and comfortable recreational space.
He also said the park would be the first facility of its kind in Kalba, with plans to develop similar projects in other areas.
Once completed, the project will provide women in Kalba with a dedicated complex featuring an observation tower, green spaces and indoor recreational facilities.
