Complete Guide to Weekend Travel on Etihad Rail: Departure Times, Parking Fees and More
The opening of two new stations has made it easier for UAE residents to use Etihad Rail for travel and tourism between cities across the country.
The long-awaited Al Yalayis station in Dubai opened to passengers on Wednesday alongside Al Dhaid station in Sharjah. Demand for Etihad Rail’s passenger services has been so strong that the company has announced six additional weekend services.
Passengers planning to use Etihad Rail should familiarise themselves with train schedules, ticket prices, parking charges and onward transport options before starting their journey.

Passengers can currently travel between Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Fujairah and Al Dhaid.

Station parking and charges
Mohamed bin Zayed City station in Abu Dhabi has 258 parking spaces, including eight designated for electric vehicles. The car park is managed by Darb.
The first 15 minutes are free. Parking for up to three hours costs AED 5 per hour, while stays of up to 24 hours cost AED 15. Multi-day parking is charged at AED 20 per day.
Vehicles entering the car park between 2am and 6am must pay AED 20 for 24 hours. Charges are deducted from the Darb wallet, while those without a Darb account can pay using a QR code. Payment must be made within 24 hours to avoid a fine.
Al Yalayis station in Dubai has 265 parking spaces. The car park is managed by Parkin, with charges applying around the clock, seven days a week, including public holidays.
The first 15 minutes are free, after which parking costs AED 5 per hour. Vehicles parked for five hours or more are charged the full daily rate of AED 30.
Overnight parking between 1am and 5am costs AED 40. Payment must be made through the Parkin app within one day. Failure to pay will result in a fine of AED 150.
Al Dhaid station offers free parking for 26 vehicles.
Fujairah station has 263 parking spaces, with a daily charge of AED 10.
Onward transport options from stations
Three shuttle services are available for passengers at Mohamed bin Zayed City station in Abu Dhabi. They must be booked when purchasing a train ticket and cost AED 10 per person.
The shuttles take passengers to Reem Mall on Reem Island in about 55 minutes, ADNEC Centre in Al Rawdah in about 30 minutes, and ADNOC’s headquarters on the Corniche in about 45 minutes.
The shuttle services operate in both directions from 7am to 9pm.
At Al Yalayis station in Dubai, passengers can reach Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station via a pedestrian bridge or shuttle service.
The F38 shuttle bus also transports passengers to Dubai Production City and Dubai Sports City.
Visitors planning to explore Dubai can purchase a one-day nol card from AED 22. The card allows passengers to combine intercity rail travel with eligible unlimited journeys across Dubai’s Metro, tram and bus networks.
At Al Dhaid station, three bus routes transport passengers to Al Jubail Bus Station, Al Sajaa Bus Station and Al Madam Bus Station.
At Fujairah station, the Etihad Rail bus stop is just 35 metres from the railway station.
Ride-hailing and car rental services are also available to passengers at all stations across the Etihad Rail network.
