US President Donald Trump praised the relationship between Washington and Abu Dhabi during a bilateral meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France, describing the UAE leader as a "highly respected man."

During the meeting, Trump said Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed "does what needs to be done," adding that he is internationally recognized as a figure whom "everyone respects, along with his country." The US President also described the relationship between the United States and the UAE as "outstanding" and emphasized the continued cooperation between the two nations.

In another part of his remarks, Trump referred to UAE investments in the United States, claiming the country has invested "$19.3 trillion," which he described as "a record." He stated that these investments are being utilized in unprecedented sectors.

In response, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed his appreciation for the US President's "support and commitment" to Washington's friends and allies. Referring to the Iran war, he noted that American support during that period was of great importance to the UAE.
