Umm Al Quwain Government Employees to Observe Four-Day Work Week During Ramadan

Government employees in Umm Al Quwain will benefit from a four-day work week during the holy month of Ramadan, according to a new directive from the emirate's leadership.

The decision, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, has led to the Emiri Diwan issuing a circular specifying official working hours.

🟠 Ramadan 2026 Work Schedule Details:

🔵 Work Days: Monday to Thursday.

🔵 Weekend Holiday: Includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout Ramadan.

🔵 Daily Working Hours: From 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM for all local government entities.

🟠 Significance of the Decision

This initiative by Umm Al Quwain aims to provide employees with more opportunities to perform religious observances and spend time with their families during Ramadan. While some other emirates, such as Sharjah, have previously implemented a four-day work week throughout the year, this change in Umm Al Quwain is specifically for the holy month of Ramadan.
