The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said skies will be clear to partly cloudy today, Wednesday, October 14, with a chance of convective cloud formation and rainfall in some areas during the afternoon.

According to the forecast, clouds may develop over eastern and western parts of the country, bringing rain to some areas. Higher humidity overnight and on Thursday morning will also increase the likelihood of fog or mist forming in some coastal and inland areas.

Southeasterly to northeasterly winds are forecast at speeds of 10 to 25 kilometres per hour, occasionally reaching 40kph as clouds develop and potentially blowing dust in some areas. The sea is expected to be slight.

Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 37°C in Dubai and Sharjah and 39°C in Abu Dhabi. Minimum temperatures are forecast at 27°C in Sharjah, 29°C in Dubai and 30°C in Abu Dhabi.

The NCM also warned of possible heavy and scattered showers, thunderstorms and strong winds across parts of the country during the current week.

The centre said rainfall intensity will vary between areas, while expanding convective clouds could bring thunderstorms and stronger winds to some locations.
