GCC Secretary-General condemns media allegations against UAE and Qatar
Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has condemned biased media allegations and undocumented information published against the UAE and Qatar. He stated that these claims aim to cast doubt on the positions and constructive roles of both countries in supporting regional and international security and stability.
Albudaiwi emphasized that these allegations lack credibility and objective foundations, aiming to undermine the sincere efforts of GCC member states to consolidate security and stability and promote dialogue and cooperation among regional countries.
He explained: "Over the past years, the UAE and Qatar have presented a pioneering model in adopting policies that support regional stability through active participation in bridging viewpoints, supporting diplomatic efforts, and strengthening international cooperation to address challenges and crises facing the region. This approach reflects a responsible vision aimed at consolidating security and achieving development and prosperity for the peoples of these nations."
He also stressed that GCC countries are moving steadily and confidently toward their approach based on strengthening stability and cooperation, categorically rejecting any media campaigns aimed at insulting any of their members.
Albudaiwi emphasized that such campaigns will not affect the cohesion and unity of member states, nor will they weaken their firm determination to play a pivotal role in supporting security, stability, and prosperity at both regional and international levels.
