New Dining and Entertainment Destination at Mall of the Emirates Combines Food, Games and Social Experiences
Mall of the Emirates in Dubai is set to expand its dining and entertainment offering with the launch of The Hangout. The new indoor-outdoor destination will feature 18 food and beverage concepts and four interactive entertainment venues.
The Hangout will open in phases throughout 2026 and early 2027, creating a temperature-controlled outdoor walkway between New Covent Garden Theatre and Fashion Dome.
The dining line-up will feature a mix of international and local brands, including:
▪️ London restaurant Fatt Pundit
▪️ Crunch Sandwich [Up]Rising
▪️ Apollo from Palm Jumeirah
▪️ Arabic restaurant Asma
▪️ Local brand Feels
▪️ Junk Smash Burger
▪️ Crystal Jade Noodle Bar
More brands are expected to be announced at a later date.
🟣 Four New Entertainment Venues
A key part of the project is the addition of four entertainment destinations. Activate, which has operated at City Centre Mirdif since 2024, will open at Mall of the Emirates in October. Featuring 12 rooms and more than 50 challenges, the venue combines technology-driven interactive games with physical activity.
SOCO is also scheduled to open in 2026. The 2,700-square-metre venue will feature bowling, next-generation simulators, augmented-reality darts, karaoke and VIP party rooms.
Explorers will join the development early next year. Designed for children aged 12 and under, the venue will feature three play zones, including suspended net courses, STEM-based water play and workshops covering activities such as cooking, woodworking and art.
Magic Planet will also be redesigned with a fresh look and experience for a new generation, alongside new family-friendly facilities.
Ignace Lahoud, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim’s Entertainment and Lifestyle division, said Hangout combines food, gaming and social experiences to meet changing customer preferences, as people increasingly seek active, shared entertainment.
