World’s Tallest Gold Bar Goes on Display in Sharjah
The record was registered in Cairo on May 15, 2026, by Egyptian company Kemet (KPM) and its BTC brand. BTC, the company’s gold and silver bullion and coin brand, brought the bar to the Sharjah exhibition and displayed its official Guinness World Records certificate alongside it. According to Emarat Al Youm, the bar weighs about 30 kilograms.
Shaped like a golden ruler, the bar is mounted vertically on a specially designed platform. The BTC stand features the slogan “Measure Your Height in Gold,” and visitors can take photos beside the bar.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, opened the 58th Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show at Expo Centre Sharjah on Wednesday, September 30. The exhibition runs until Sunday, October 4, featuring more than 500 brands from 19 countries across over 30,000 square metres. Hong Kong, India, Italy, Singapore and Thailand also have dedicated pavilions at the event.
The exhibition has a history spanning more than five decades and is held twice a year. Exhibitors showcase their latest designs and collections of gold, diamonds, gemstones and watches.
