Anwar Gargash Calls for End to Online Insults and Disputes Among Regional Users
Dr Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, has called for an end to insults and hostile exchanges among social media users from countries across the region, warning that such behaviour does not reflect the values and moral principles of its people.
In a post on X, Gargash urged people across the region to reject the abusive language and personal attacks increasingly seen in online discussions, stressing that everyone has a responsibility to speak out against such behaviour.
“Rising above the vulgarity and insults we see in social media disputes between countries in the region is a duty shared by us all,” he wrote.
“This language neither represents us nor reflects our morals and values,” Gargash added.
The UAE President’s diplomatic adviser also warned that the region is going through a critical and decisive period that requires greater awareness and responsibility from everyone.
“We are at a decisive juncture that demands awareness and responsibility from us all. We may differ in our assessments,” he wrote.
