Oman’s SalamAir resumed direct flights on the Muscat–Tehran–Muscat route on Sunday, October 18, after a suspension of several months. The airline’s first Airbus A320 flight landed at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport, where it was welcomed with a traditional water salute.

Under the schedule, SalamAir will operate two weekly flights on the route, on Sundays and Fridays. The resumption restores direct passenger services between Tehran and Muscat following the recent suspension.

SalamAir is the second foreign carrier, after Iraqi Airways, to resume flights to Iran following recent restrictions. Iraqi Airways had earlier restarted daily direct flights on the Najaf–Tehran–Najaf route on Thursday, October 8, after a suspension of several months.

SalamAir’s return to the Tehran–Muscat route marks another step in the gradual resumption of foreign airline services to Iran.

Given the security situation in the region and possible passenger entry restrictions in Oman, travellers are advised to check flight schedules, entry requirements and passenger acceptance rules directly with the airline or its authorised representative before purchasing tickets.
