Trump: If You Don’t Know Someone’s Name in the Middle East, Just Say ‘Mohammed’!
US President Donald Trump joked about the prevalence of the name “Mohammed” in the Middle East while speaking about Iran at a campaign rally in Dalton, Georgia, on Friday, October 16.
Trump, who claimed that no one in Iran was willing to become president, repeatedly used the name Mohammed during his remarks, saying:
“You know, folks, if you don’t know someone’s name in the Middle East and aren’t sure what to call them, just say Mohammed. There’s about a 65 per cent chance you’ll be right!”
He then pretended to call out to someone, saying, “Hello, Mohammed!” before adding: “I’ve been doing this for years, and I’ve never been wrong!”
After the joke, the US president returned to the subject of Iran’s presidency and acted out imaginary conversations with people named Mohammed, pretending that none of them was willing to take on the responsibility of serving as president.
