du Pay to Launch Subscription Model for Money Transfers Soon
du Pay plans to launch a new subscription model soon, expanding from a money transfer service into a fintech platform offering a broader range of lifestyle services.
Roberto Mancone, CEO of du Pay, the digital payments arm of telecom operator du, said the company is shifting from a remittance-focused fintech model towards everyday financial services and benefits aimed at boosting user engagement.
According to Mancone, du Pay plans to offer users a low-cost subscription model that includes additional benefits alongside money transfer services, even if they do not make any transfers.
“We are working to launch a subscription model at a minimal cost. Even if users do not send money, we want to offer them benefits such as cashback on card spending, perks on telecom products, a number of free money transfers and SIM card discounts,” he said.
The du Pay CEO added that such benefits could help attract and retain customers, an approach widely adopted by other telecom companies.
