Dubai’s Museum of the Future Opens Recruitment, No Relevant Experience Required
Dubai’s Museum of the Future has launched a new recruitment initiative, inviting interested candidates to apply to join its team. Rather than focusing on academic qualifications, job titles and years of experience, the initiative prioritises qualities such as creativity, curiosity, emotional intelligence and communication skills.
According to Khaleej Times, the museum is seeking people through an initiative called “Future Perfects” who can use storytelling and human connection to turn concepts related to science, technology and society into engaging and accessible experiences for visitors.
Described as the world’s first recruitment initiative of its kind, the programme focuses on identifying individual talent, imagination, effective communication skills and adaptability. Unlike traditional hiring methods, it does not treat academic qualifications and employment history as the main selection criteria.
Successful applicants will join the museum’s visitor experience team and help shape new ways of engaging with visitors and communicating the museum’s concepts.
The programme is being introduced ahead of the museum’s scheduled reopening in 2027 and aims to create a distinctive visitor experience.
Hiring Requirements and Responsibilities for New Staff at Dubai’s Museum of the Future
Those hired as “Future Perfects” will combine visitor guidance, storytelling and facilitating conversations.
⠀
They must be able to welcome visitors from diverse cultures and backgrounds, explain complex scientific and technological concepts in clear, accessible language, and encourage discussions about the future.
⠀
Dubai’s Museum of the Future is seeking candidates with strong communication and active listening skills, confidence in problem-solving, and the ability to engage with people of different ages and personalities.
⠀
According to the announced requirements, previous experience in museums or customer service is not mandatory. This gives people whose skills and talents have developed outside conventional career paths an opportunity to apply for the programme.
⠀
Successful applicants are expected to begin working full-time in November 2026 and join the museum’s visitor experience team.
⠀
The initiative aims to create an experience that enables visitors to understand concepts related to science, technology, nature and society in tangible ways relevant to their own lives.
⠀
This approach is based on the belief that although technology can expand the range of possibilities and opportunities, people remain essential to understanding and experiencing them.
Dubai’s Museum of the Future Rethinks Recruitment
Azza Al Nuaimi, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai’s Museum of the Future, said the initiative reflects Dubai’s approach to identifying talent and creating opportunities for people who can turn their ideas into reality.
⠀
She said: “Dubai has secured its global standing by identifying opportunities before they become apparent and creating the conditions for people’s abilities, ideas and ambitions to become reality.”
⠀
Al Nuaimi explained that the Museum of the Future’s vision is not limited to imagining what lies ahead, but also focuses on the people who will shape the future and how visitors perceive their place within it.
⠀
She said that as technology continues to advance, qualities such as curiosity, imagination and the ability to build human connections will remain essential.
⠀
She emphasised: “These qualities cannot be measured by academic qualifications, job titles or years of experience.”
⠀
The Museum of the Future’s Chief Operating Officer added that the “Future Perfects” initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to recognising people’s talent and potential beyond conventional career paths.
⠀
She said: “We are looking for people who may never have imagined working in a museum, but who possess exactly the qualities a museum of the future needs.”
