Dubai Fountain shows have resumed after a temporary suspension following the declaration of 10 days of official mourning in Dubai.

Emaar said: “Dubai Fountain operations were suspended after official mourning was declared following the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Shows have now resumed under an adjusted schedule in keeping with the ongoing period of mourning.”

The official mourning period was announced after Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum died on Monday morning. Sheikh Ahmed was the younger brother of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Dubai Fountain returns after five-month closure

The latest suspension came after Dubai Fountain resumed operations on October 1, 2025, following a five-month closure for refurbishment and upgrades.

Thousands of spectators gathered for the reopening to once again watch the attraction’s synchronised water, music and light shows.

Before the latest suspension, afternoon shows were scheduled at 1pm and 1.30pm from Saturday to Thursday, and at 2pm and 2.30pm on Fridays.

Evening shows were held every 30 minutes from 6pm to 11pm.

Emaar has not announced details of the adjusted show schedule during the mourning period.
