Zelenskyy Thanks UAE for Hosting Ukraine-Russia-US Talks in Abu Dhabi

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and the United Arab Emirates for facilitating trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi.

The discussions, involving the United States, Russia, and Ukraine, were part of ongoing efforts to foster dialogue and seek political solutions to the crisis in Ukraine.

"Our delegation reported back; the meetings in the Emirates are over. This was the first format of its kind in a long time: two days of trilateral meetings. There were many topics, and it is important that the talks were constructive," Zelenskyy said via the X platform.

Zelenskyy also stated, "The main focus of the talks was on possible parameters for ending the war. I highly value the understanding of the need for US oversight and inspection of the process of ending the war and ensuring real security."

He added, "The American side raised the issue of potential formats for formalizing the parameters of ending the war, as well as the security conditions needed to achieve this."

"As a result of the meetings held in these days, all parties agreed to report on every aspect of the negotiations in their capitals and coordinate the next steps with their leaders," he continued. "Military representatives identified a list of topics for a possible next meeting. Provided there is a willingness to move forward – and Ukraine is ready – more meetings will be held, which could possibly be as early as next week. I am awaiting an in-person report from the delegation upon their return."

He concluded his statement by saying, "I thank the United Arab Emirates, and personally the President of the UAE, for their mediation and willingness to host further meetings."

He added, "Ukraine is striving for peace and security. Thank you to everyone who helps."
