Red and yellow fog alerts issued in UAE as Dubai temperatures hit 43°C
The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said the weather today, Thursday, October 8, will be fair to partly cloudy across most parts of the country, with clouds forming over eastern areas in the afternoon.
Humidity will increase in some coastal and inland areas from tonight into Friday morning, with a chance of fog or mist forming.
The NCM has also issued red and yellow fog alerts for parts of the country, warning of reduced horizontal visibility. Fog may significantly reduce visibility at times.
Southeasterly to northeasterly winds are forecast at speeds of 10 to 20 km/h, occasionally reaching 30 km/h.
Temperatures are expected to reach 43°C in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and 41°C in Sharjah. Minimum temperatures are forecast at 29°C in Abu Dhabi, 30°C in Dubai and 28°C in Sharjah.
In mountainous areas, temperatures could fall to a low of 21°C.
Sea conditions are also expected to be calm, with slight waves.
