British Airways has officially resumed direct flights between London Heathrow Airport and Dubai International Airport (DXB) following an eight-month suspension due to regional conflicts.

The British carrier will initially operate one daily London–Dubai flight during the winter season and plans to increase the service to twice daily from summer 2027.

British Airways had initially planned to resume Dubai flights on October 25 but later moved the restart date to November 3, 2026.

However, the airline’s Abu Dhabi services remain suspended and are not expected to resume until the start of the 2027–2028 winter schedule.

British Airways Flight Status in the Middle East

British Airways is taking a phased approach to resuming services to destinations across the region.

According to the announced schedule, the airline’s flight status is as follows:

  • Doha: Flights resumed on September 1, but frequency has been reduced from two daily services to one flight per day.
    • Tel Aviv: Daily flights resumed on October 25.
    • Riyadh: Daily flights resumed on November 3.
    • Amman: Flights are scheduled to resume on November 4, with four services per week.
    • Bahrain: Flights will remain suspended until the end of March 2027.

Flight Status of Other International Airlines

While British Airways has resumed flights to several regional destinations, a number of international airlines have extended their suspensions due to airspace restrictions and security concerns.

According to the announced schedules, the status of these airlines is as follows:

  • Air France: Flights suspended until November 7
    • Lufthansa, Swiss and Eurowings: Flights scheduled to resume from November 25
    • Austrian Airlines: Flights scheduled to resume from December 12
    • Singapore Airlines: Flights suspended until February 28, 2027
    • KLM and Air Canada: Flights suspended until the end of March 2027
    • Virgin Atlantic: Flights suspended until October 2027

British Airways’ return to the London-Dubai route after an eight-month hiatus marks a step towards restoring direct air links between the United Kingdom and the UAE.

However, the airline’s continued suspension of flights to Abu Dhabi, along with service suspensions by several international carriers, indicates that the full restoration of regional flights remains a gradual process.
