Ras Al Khaimah Transformed by Recent Rainfall

Extensive rainfall across the UAE last week has given Ras Al Khaimah a dramatically different and spectacular appearance. Images released by the emirate's media office show rugged mountains and dry wadis now adorned with waterfalls and rushing streams. The scenery is further enhanced by the sight of birds in flight and camels peacefully grazing amidst the revitalized landscape.

Wadis Surge, Nature Calms

In Wadi Dafta, the sound of flowing water brings a unique tranquility to the environment, while in Wadi Al Naqab (a popular spot for hikers), heavy rainfall has transformed rocky paths into a powerful river. A similar situation has been reported in Fujairah's Souq Al Juma'a, resulting from the establishment of a low-pressure system in the region.

Key Difference from Previous Storms

Although rainfall in some areas equaled two years' worth of the UAE's average, experts emphasize that this weather system differed from the devastating storm of April 2024. The distribution of rainfall over a week (instead of a few hours) allowed the ground to absorb water, minimizing damage.

According to the National Center of Meteorology, with the departure of this weather system, stable atmospheric conditions with clear to partly cloudy skies are expected. Key points for the coming days include:

Pleasant Temperatures: Cool weather will persist with highs of 25 to 29 degrees Celsius in major cities and lows around 18 degrees Celsius at night.
