The Dubai Land Department (DLD) has launched Oqood 2.0, a digital platform designed to simplify and accelerate property transaction registration and government approvals by integrating the various stages of an application into a single digital process.

A key feature of the platform is a pre-registration system that informs users of the documents, information and requirements needed for their transaction before final submission. By answering a series of questions, users receive guidance tailored to their application type, allowing them to prepare the necessary documents before the review stage.

Oqood 2.0 can also automatically populate forms using existing information. For example, details from documents such as passports can be used to complete certain fields, eliminating the need for applicants to enter the same information multiple times. The feature is intended to reduce repetitive steps and speed up submissions.

After submitting an application, users can track its status digitally and see whether it is under review, requires additional information or documents, or has been approved. Government employees will also have a unified view of cases, allowing them to monitor the status of each application and identify any action required.

The system also records every stage of an application, from preparation and submission to review and final approval. According to DLD, this feature can identify bottlenecks and enable users to respond more quickly when additional documents are requested.

Mustafa Mohammed Rifai, Chief Project Officer in the Digital Transformation division, said the aim was not merely to move existing procedures online, but to redesign how people and technology interact with government services. DLD said Oqood 2.0 would continue to be developed in partnership with users and relevant government entities to make property transactions in Dubai more transparent and efficient.
