Which company shares gained on the Dubai bourse this week, and by how much?
Dubai Financial Market ended the week to September 25, 2026, with its General Index up 0.39 per cent and market capitalisation rising by nearly Dh4.4 billion, making it the best-performing Arab stock market in terms of weekly gains.
After five trading sessions, the DFM General Index closed at 5,980.27 points. The market capitalisation of listed companies increased from Dh990.02 billion at the end of the previous week to Dh994.4 billion, an exact rise of about Dh4.38 billion.
The Dubai index crossed the 6,000-point mark midweek, but volatility during the final two sessions pared some of its gains. Nevertheless, increases in banking and property stocks, as well as shares in several industrial and transport services companies, kept the market’s weekly return positive.
In the banking sector, Mashreq shares rose 2.8 per cent to Dh328. Ajman Bank gained 2.1 per cent, Emirates NBD 1.58 per cent, Commercial Bank of Dubai 0.8 per cent and Dubai Islamic Bank 0.7 per cent. Emirates NBD and Dubai Islamic Bank closed at Dh30.9 and Dh7.29, respectively.
In the property sector, Emaar shares gained 0.5 per cent to close at Dh11.68. Union Properties rose 0.67 per cent, while Emaar Development fell 2.5 per cent, TECOM Group declined 6.57 per cent and Deyaar lost 0.26 per cent. The mixed performance showed that the index’s rise was not accompanied by broad-based gains across all stocks.
Among industrial and transport services companies, Drake & Scull gained 6.45 per cent, Salik rose 4.67 per cent, Dubai Taxi Company advanced 3.67 per cent and Aramex added 1.18 per cent. Aman Insurance recorded the market’s largest weekly gain, rising 21.5 per cent to about Dh0.7. Al Ramz Corporation shares also climbed 17.45 per cent.
Emaar attracted the highest weekly trading value on the Dubai market at about Dh885.4 million. Emirates NBD followed with Dh302.8 million, while Salik ranked third with Dh148.5 million.
The Abu Dhabi market delivered a different performance during the same week, with its index closing lower at 10,200.73 points. Despite the decline, shares in Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Aldar, ADNOC Gas and ADNOC Drilling gained. First Abu Dhabi Bank recorded the capital’s highest weekly trading value at about Dh1.2 billion.
Dubai’s weekly gain came amid increased trading activity this year. Official Dubai Financial Market data showed that trading value in the first half of 2026 rose 40.4 per cent year on year to Dh119.5 billion. Average daily trading value increased 45.1 per cent to Dh1.004 billion.
