Dubai Police and Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have announced that new restrictions on truck movements across Dubai’s roads will take effect on October 1. Emirates Road will be exempt.

Restriction hours will vary depending on the traffic corridor, area and congestion levels. A 24-hour truck ban will apply on several key roads and at major locations, including Al Qudra Street, Meydan Street, all airport crossings and the Airport Tunnel.

On other routes, including Sheikh Zayed Road and Beirut Street, as well as in the residential areas of Al Mizhar, Muhaisnah and Oud Al Muteena, trucks will be banned for 16 hours a day, from 6am to 10pm.

On urban roads, including Airport Road, Amman Street and Damascus Street, truck restrictions will apply during three peak traffic periods: from 6.30am to 8.30am, 1pm to 3pm, and 5.30pm to 8pm.
